The Ghost on the Swing
Curator's Note
Some things Emma finds in the Archive are unsettling.
Others are simply rather difficult to explain.
Specimen No. A-0773 was one of the latter.
Emma discovered it beneath a pile of forgotten pictures, where the dark frame almost disappeared into the shadows.
Inside was a strange little figure sitting quietly on a swing, deep within a moonlit woodland.
Emma stared at it.
The little ghost stared back.
She decided that was probably enough reason to bring it home.
With its atmospheric blue woodland scene, tiny ghostly figure and ornate black frame, this unusual decorative picture has a wonderfully mysterious, slightly whimsical quality.
The contrast between the deep blue forest, glowing woodland floor and pale little figure gives it the feeling of a forgotten scene from some old woodland tale.
Perfect for a gothic bedroom, reading nook, hallway, study or curiosity cabinet, or anywhere that could use a little something strange from the woods.
