The Serpent’s Mirror

Every piece in the Stranger Folkes Archive is chosen for a reason. Some are curious, some unsettling, and others simply seem to belong somewhere beyond the ordinary.

Specimen No. A-0768 was one Emma found particularly difficult to ignore.

She discovered it hanging amongst a collection of forgotten things, its dark frame almost disappearing into the shadows. But then she noticed the serpents.

They curled around the edges as though guarding the glass, their scaled bodies winding through the elaborate scrollwork.

Emma apparently stood staring at it for rather longer than necessary.

She later said she had the strange feeling that the mirror was watching her back.

Naturally, she brought it home.

With its dramatic oval shape, dark metallic-effect finish and intricate baroque-inspired detailing, this is a wonderfully unusual statement piece for anyone drawn to gothic interiors, dark academia, Victorian-inspired décor or the more mysterious side of home styling.

The ornate frame is surrounded by decorative serpents and elaborate scrolling details, giving the mirror an almost antique, enchanted quality.

Perfect for a gothic bedroom, hallway, dressing area, study or anywhere that could use a little more mystery.
