Curator’s Note

Every piece in the Stranger Folkes Archive is chosen for a reason. Some are discovered unexpectedly, others seem to have wandered into our world from somewhere much older.

This is why Specimen No. A-0763 found its place within the Archive.

Hidden among towering shelves of forgotten books, a lone witch sits quietly reading by the glow of an enchanted book. The old library surrounding her feels almost suspended in time  a place where stories, spells and secrets have been left waiting between the pages.

The richly atmospheric artwork is framed in an ornate bronze-gold frame, adding to its antique, mysterious character. There is something wonderfully inviting about it; the sort of scene that makes you wonder what she has discovered in that glowing book, and what might happen if you turned the page.

A striking piece for anyone drawn to witchcraft, folklore, dark academia, old libraries and stories of the strange and mysterious.
